Beaverton Farmer’s Market is Family Bliss!
I just LOVE LOVE LOVE that we live where we live, and have THE amazing opportunities to enjoy the sun and fun with family at the many farmer’s markets. I do enjoy going to many of them and since my family lives in Beaverton, we are lucky to have one of the best.
This little market is not so little anymore, and offers an amazing selection of fresh foods, veggies, flowers, pastries, wines, meats, cheeses. I look at going to the Farmer’s Market as a chance to educate my kids about where we live, eating healthy, where foods come from and about supporting small businesses which is something I am a huge advocate for.
Today, we walked around for several hours talking to the different booth owners, sampling treats. To take home we got: Blueberries, gourmet cupcakes from Best Buns in the Oven, delicious cinnamon and sugar-glazed nuts from the Bavarian Nut Company, sweet & spicy BBQ sauce from Danielle’s, gluten free-rosemary garlic bread from Happy Campers, a bounty of lettuces and a nice basket of cherries. Beaverton Farmer’s Market has the Market Sprouts Kids Club which inspires children of Washington County to take part in their local food system, enjoy eating nutritious foods, and empowers them to make healthy choices. The goal is to have
kids engage with local farmers and get to know where their food comes from to improve health outcomes and inspire a new generation of informed, healthy eaters. Kids receive a Market Sprouts Club re-usable bag with offers and incentives throughout the season. My kids Alayna and Evan thought this was pretty cool.
Today there was live music and a special event performance of dancers presented in partnership with the Beaverton Arts Commission. Aside from the festive lively atmosphere, I totally appreciate that at farmer’s markets, everyone is so friendly.

Maybe it’s the joint celebration of sun and the summer here in Portland. Maybe it’s that we revel in the joy of community. Or perhaps we all just realize how lucky and grateful we are to be alive, and to spend a leisurely morning basking in the bounty of love….
