Wild Minds: What Animals Really Think will show visitors just how bright our friends in the animal kingdom can be.  Many species demonstrate cognitive skills long thought to make human beings unique: using tools, solving problems, self awareness, and the ability to communicate.  Over decades, researchers have documented these talents in different animal species, observing behavior in the wild and in carefully controlled experiments.

The Wild Minds exhibit components listed below will be on view at OMSI.  As part of a collaborative effort to increase the learning impact of local educational programs, the Oregon Zoo will also display additional exhibit pieces and host complementary keeper talks beginning March 24, 2012.

WHEN:

Saturday, February 11 to Sunday, August 19, 2012

 WHERE:

OMSI’s Life Science Hall

Beginning March 24, 2012, visitors are also encouraged to visit the Oregon Zoo to observe live animals, see related exhibit pieces and learn more through keeper talks.
