December 2009 – What do you think winner

In the December issue of Portland Family Magazine we asked our readers the following question:

What lesson has your child recently taught you?

Our winning response, from Keli Barnhart, is as follows:

I’m a mom of three young boys who are 4 yrs, 11 yrs and 20 months old. And the other day my oldest son came over to me and said, “Mom, just relax for awhile, You don’t need to be on the go or cleaning 24 hours a day. Slow down and come play a family game of cards.”

So he taught me that the house and chores will still be there tomorrow, but remember how important family is and you should spend as much family time together as possible. Don’t let life take those important memories away. Life is short; you should cherish each and every moment.
